We know that the Royal Wedding is not the only wedding of 2018. We also know that as the Mother of the Bride/Groom that you will want to look just as regal at your own daughter or son’s special day.
If you have found the perfect outfit, then we can show you the perfect shoes. And as we advise with our bridal shoes, it is equally important that you consider comfort as well as style when it comes to finding the perfect pair.
You no doubt have the prior knowledge that weddings are long days, with lots of time spent on your feet so you will need to find a pair of shoes that you can wear all day in total comfort. For many women, this means finding shoes that offer a little extra space for toes to wriggle and feet to breathe. Wide fitting shoes are often seen as frumpy and ugly, but our shoes are quite the opposite. Made by women (with wide feet) for women, our shoes focus equally on style and comfort. After all, why should the two be mutually exclusive?
When it comes to finding the perfect pair, we suggest you consider these key aspects:
Width – It sounds basic, but make sure you choose a pair of shoes which fit properly in terms of width. Whilst they may only feel a little snug when you slip them on in the morning, rest assured as the day wears on and your feet swell the snugness will feel more like your feet are in a vice! Choose shoes that offer a little extra space for your feet to spread.
Heels – If you are not usually a heel wearer, but you want a little extra height for the event then avoid stilettos but choose a modest heel that you can walk in (and practice walking in the shoes around the house). If you find that you are a little unsteady on your feet when it comes to heels (and this is pre-champagne!), choose a heel with a wider base, such as a block heel. The wider surface area offers greater support.
Fastenings – If you are not comfortable wearing heels but wish to do so for this special day, or if you have wide feet but slim heels, choose a shoe with a fastening to keep the shoes firmly but comfortably on your feet. A buckle or a lace-up style can be just as elegant as a slip-on stiletto.
Material – Feet tend to swell as the day wears on, and if it is hot weather this can also lead to sweaty feet. Therefore, it makes a huge difference in how your feet behave by the material the shoes are made off. Wearing leather shoes will enable the feet to breathe, shoes made of certain synthetic materials do not so will only serve to make hot feet even more sweaty and sticky.
