When going on a whistlestop business trip, packing can be difficult, especially for women. Most of the time you have a limited amount of space to pack both professional and casual attire, including make-up, hair products, and of course shoes, not to mention your laptop and any work documents you need to bring. Shoes can be bulky, taking up the most space and being the heaviest object in your luggage. Ideally, you want to limit the number of shoes you take but if you like to wear heels for work and play, you might find, when it comes to shoes, packing economically is going to be an issue. If this business trip requires a flight then it is important to wear shoes that can expand as a result of the pressurised cabin. Stilettos, which are often tight and restrictive are a definite No! Yet, once you arrive at your destination you’ll want to be in full professional mode and switch into those heels. Heels may also be perfect for any evening social activities, but if you have time to yourself and want to explore then no doubt you want to wear something a little more practical. Whilst this may mean you need two pairs of shoes, we believe you could cover all of your bases with just one: The Sienna! Here we have created a lookbook of three different outfit combinations that would be perfect for a short business trip. All of these outfits utilise the same pair of shoes to prove that a universal shoe can save a lot of space in your suitcase.
Our Sienna Wide Fit Court Shoes are stylish but they also have several well-considered elements of comfort that will make them a pleasure to wear all day and night. Their block heels give your heels more support taking some of the strain from your legs, vs stilettos which can feel as if you are balancing on a pin all day! Our Sienna shoes also contain padded insoles to cushion the balls of your feet. In addition, the breathable leather arch supports do exactly what they say; they ‘support your arches’ and cushion the most tender part of your foot. If these shoes haven’t sold themselves yet, should you be travelling by aeroplane, the super soft leather will happily expand with your feet when you are at altitude. We promise you will never have to squeeze your feet into these shoes, especially because they have an extra wide toe box, which allows your feet a little more room to spread. Finally, the colour and style of the shoe are neutral enough to compliment a variety of outfits.
In this post we share three outfit ideas which we think make the ideal business trip capsule travel wardrobe…
The Daytime Business Conference Look is a chic outfit that can be worn to any business meeting or event, such as a conference or working lunch. This look includes a Zara White Top paired with Oasis Cigarette Trousers, and a Zara Pale Blazer. The accessories include a Nude Ted Baker handbag, a pair of diamond studs, the Fenty Beauty Universal Gloss Bomb, and the Sienna Sargasso & Grey Heels.
The second outfit is perfect for any free time you might have to discover the place you are visiting. This Casual Daytime Look would be perfect for a shopping trip or lunch in town. This look includes a TopShop White Crop Top paired with TopShop High Waisted Denim Jeans, and a beige Zara coat. The accessories include a pair of TopShop hoops, a brown suede Matt and Nat satchel, the Clinique Fuschia lipstick for a pop of colour, and of course the Sienna Sargasso & Grey Heels.
Finally, the last outfit is our Business Nighttime Cocktail Look, essential for a corporate formal dinner or a cocktail meet and greet event. This look includes a black Oasis cocktail dress, a Peter Kaiser Wye Glittery Leather Snakeskin Clutch, a pair of TopShop dangling rose gold earrings, a simple Goldsmiths rose gold bracelet, a red NARS lipstick for a bold pop, and last but not least the Sienna Sargasso & Grey shoes.
Top Tip: Whilst we have suggested 3 different bags, you can be clever here too and opt for a mid-size tote in a neutral colour, to see you through all occasions. Happy Travels!
